HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO BECOME A BLACK BELT?

One of the most often asked questions by beginning students is how long will it take to become a black belt?  Unfortunately there are no short cuts.  Learning Karate involves hard work and dedication to training. To Learn the basic techniques will take dedication to their practice.  In Kyokushin Karate it may take longer than other martial art styles to achieve your Black Belt Grade, however we believe that the amount of effort you put in to achieve your Black Belt will make it something to be truly proud of.

At the beginning of your training it should be stressed that there are no short cuts to learning Karate.  There are no special techniques that guarantee to turn you into a deadly fighting machine.  Your progress will be directly proportional to the amount of effort YOU are prepared to put into your training.  Remember the only way to learn a technique is through CONSTANT PRACTICE.

As a beginner, you will be taken from the very basic techniques, punch by punch, block by block, kick by kick.  While the essence of karate is kumite (fighting) we believe before you can start fighting you must know the basic techniques and how to use them.  As you progress you will develop power, speed and self confidence.
